In a major year-end administrative reshuffle, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has promoted thirteen IPS officers of the 2012 batch to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP). These officers, who have been serving as Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP) or Superintendents of Police (SP) in various key districts and specialized wings, will now move into higher supervisory roles. This promotion marks their transition into the senior management cadre of the state’s police force, effective from January 2026.
