NEW DELHI – Global gaming platform Roblox has appointed Sunil Rao as Managing Director for India, effective this May. Rao will serve as the company’s senior representative and market lead, tasked with expanding the platform’s presence, fostering local developer partnerships, and supporting the creator ecosystem.
Prior to joining Roblox, Rao was part of the leadership team at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he directed strategy and corporate business development for the Asia-Pacific and Japan region.
Strategic Focus and Safety
In his new role, Rao will focus on empowering Indian developers and studios to scale commercially using Roblox’s tools. His mandate also includes ensuring platform safety and maintaining alignment with India’s evolving regulatory framework.
