DUBAI: FMCG giant Mars has announced the promotion of Mahmoud Maghraby to the position of Media Director for the AMEA (Asia, Middle East, and Africa) region. The transition marks an expansion of his territorial mandate within the multinational food and pet care conglomerate.
Prior to this elevation, Maghraby served as the company’s Media Director for the Middle East, Africa, and Global Emerging Markets, where he anchored brand localized deployment strategies.
Over Two Decades of Media Architecture Experience
Maghraby brings more than 20 years of experience in cross-regional market alignment, media planning, and high-level strategic marketing. His career features senior positions at major global media agencies and networks:
-
The Mars Stint: Having successfully managed the Middle East, Africa, and emerging markets portfolio, his expanded role now places the complex and fast-growing Asian consumer corridors under his media investment umbrella.
-
EssenceMediacom: Before moving client-side to Mars, Maghraby was with GroupM’s EssenceMediacom, serving as the Client Managing Director & Head of Strategy for the MENA region, where he engineered data-driven media blueprints for marquee corporate clients.
-
Starcom Middle East: He spent nearly eight years at Publicis Groupe’s Starcom Middle East, sharpening his skills in consumer insights, performance marketing, and regional broadcast-to-digital shifts.
Strategic Mandate: Driving Digital Transformation in AMEA
The AMEA region represents one of the most dynamic and digitally diverse footprints for Mars, spanning mature digital economies and rapidly expanding emerging markets.
In his elevated role as Media Director, Maghraby will oversee the strategic allocation of media budgets across the company’s iconic confectionery, food, and pet care portfolios (including M&M’s, Snickers, Galaxy, Pedigree, and Whiskas). His core focus will center on scaling omnichannel commerce, leveraging predictive AI analytics for personalized ad targeting, and optimizing regional marketing structures to drive sustainable brand equity across continents.
