NEW DELHI: Marking one of the biggest high-profile migrations in the Hindi television news sector this year, veteran anchor and journalist Sushant Sinha has officially joined News18 India. Sinha stepped down from his role as Consulting Editor and News Anchor at Times Now Navbharat following the conclusion of his contract on May 31, 2026, opting not to renew his stint with the Times Network.
Sinha formally confirmed his new appointment through a social media post on Saturday morning, bringing an end to weeks of intense industry speculation.
The ‘Pathshala’ Impact
During his highly successful tenure at Times Now Navbharat, Sinha emerged as one of the network’s prime ratings drivers and most recognizable faces. He carved out a distinct identity in Hindi broadcast journalism by helming major flagship properties:
-
‘Pathshala’: A highly popular, uniquely structured explainers-style prime-time show that broke down complex political, economic, and social issues into simplified data points.
-
‘Rashtragarv’: A high-decibel debates and current affairs platform centered on national security and governance.
Two Decades of Primetime Experience
Sushant Sinha brings nearly twenty years of elite broadcast experience to the News18 India newsroom. Over the last two decades, he has maintained a strong on-screen footprint across several of the country’s leading national news networks, including:
-
NDTV India
-
India TV
-
News24
-
India News
His inclusion into the News18 India lineup is expected to significantly fortify the network’s evening primetime grid, intensifying the viewership race among the top Hindi news channels heading into the second half of the year.
