NEW DELHI — The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) held a high-level conclave at Bharat Mandapam on Wednesday, passing a special resolution to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12 years in office. The milestone marks a historic moment in Indian politics, officially making Modi the nation’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister.
As of June 10, Prime Minister Modi has completed 4,399 continuous days in office, surpassing the previous record of 4,398 uninterrupted days held by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, following the country’s first general elections.
Unanimous Support Across the Alliance
The meeting, which brought together senior leaders from 35 constituent parties, was chaired by BJP National President Nitin Nabin. The celebratory resolution was officially moved by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, highlighting the collective backing of the entire coalition.
“All colleagues have expressed their support for the proposal presented by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu ji, sharing their views and experiences,” said Nabin during his address to the assembled leaders. He noted that Union Minister Anupriya Patel formally placed the proposal before the floor, urging the coalition to unite behind the motion and reaffirm their commitment to the Prime Minister’s long-term vision.
A Focus on Centre-State Synergy
Beyond the historic milestone, the conclave functioned as a strategic workshop designed to map out national development and strengthen cooperative federalism. Leaders in attendance—including Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and party presidents—focused heavily on improving administrative coordination between state governments and the Centre.
The alliance laid out key blueprints to accelerate “Ease of Living” and “Ease of Doing Business” reforms, aligning state-level governance with the central government’s overarching “Viksit Bharat 2047” initiative for a developed nation. Currently, NDA coalition governments oversee roughly 80 percent of India’s total geographical area, reinforcing the immense administrative footprint discussed during the coordination talks.
PM Modi Responds
Expressing his gratitude on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi thanked the NDA leadership and chief ministers for their support.
“This spirit has strengthened democracy, deepened cooperative federalism, and accelerated development,” the Prime Minister stated. He added that over the past 12 years, the NDA has provided a bedrock of political stability that has driven cross-sector progress, pledging that the alliance will continue working with “renewed vigour” to serve the country’s grassroots.
As the government shifts its focus toward executing long-term infrastructure goals and finalizing welfare initiatives, the conclave concluded with a strong show of unity, signaling a cohesive and aligned front for the NDA moving forward.
