JAKARTA — Wrapping up a distinguished career spanning over two decades with the consumer goods giant, Harmeet Bhalla has stepped down from his position as President Director of Reckitt Indonesia. Bhalla announced his departure via a corporate update on LinkedIn, describing his tenure as an amazing journey filled with strong operational performance and deep market connections.
A seasoned Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) veteran with more than 25 years of industry experience, Bhalla has spent the last three years leading Reckitt’s multi-category operations and growth strategies within the Indonesian market.
A Two-Decade Legacy at Reckitt
Bhalla’s professional association with Reckitt began in 2004, when he joined the company’s Indian subsidiary as the Sales Manager for North and East India. Over the next twenty years, he moved rapidly through the company’s global leadership pipeline, handling diverse regional portfolios:
-
Emerging Market Leadership: Commanded large-scale brand strategy, commercial execution, and sales infrastructure across developing Asian markets, including India, Indonesia, and Thailand.
-
Global Retail Exposure: Directed key retail and corporate accounts within the United Kingdom, broadening his international supply chain and consumer insights experience.
-
Early Career: Prior to his 22-year journey at Reckitt, Bhalla spent five foundational years sharpening his commercial skills at domestic bakery major Britannia Industries Limited.
Strategic Handover and Future Outlook
During his three-year tenure at the helm of Reckitt Indonesia, Bhalla was instrumental in scaling up the distribution networks for the company’s core hygiene, health, and nutrition brands.
While Bhalla has indicated that he is looking forward to the next chapter of his executive career, Reckitt is expected to name his successor shortly to maintain its strong market presence and continue its digital and retail expansion strategies across Southeast Asia’s largest economy.
