NEW DELHI — In a major appointment within India’s scientific leadership apex, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the selection of renowned physicist Prof. Umesh V. Waghmare as the new Secretary of the Department of Science & Technology (DST).
According to the official executive order, Prof. Waghmare will helm the department until he attains the age of 60 years or until further administrative directives.
