Automotive major Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced a key top-tier leadership transition for its Indian operations, appointing Toshiyuki Yanagisawa as the new President & CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL), effective October 1, 2026.
Yanagisawa, currently an Operating Executive at Honda, serves as the head of the India Strategic Development Office and CEO of Honda Digital Innovation India Pvt. Ltd. (HDII). Under his new mandate, he will jointly lead both HCIL and HDII. Bringing prior executive experience in the Indian market, Yanagisawa holds deep domain knowledge of the country’s automotive landscape, consumer dynamics, and operational ecosystem.
He succeeds Takashi Nakajima, who will complete his India tenure and transition to Honda’s regional headquarters at Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
