NEW DELHI — Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kangana Ranaut has escalated her verbal feud with yoga guru Baba Ramdev, stating that he needs to reflect on his perspective regarding women and accusing him of crossing “every boundary of decency.”
The exchange marks a sharp continuation of the controversy surrounding Ranaut’s earlier “Generation Gutter” remarks directed at youth protesters participating in demonstrations led by the Cockroach Janta Party at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.
Origin of the Controversy
The dispute began after Ramdev publicly criticized Ranaut’s labeling of youth protesters, characterizing her comments as a “sign of a corrupted mind” during a media interaction and questioning her educational background and past.
Responding via social media, Ranaut advised the Patanjali co-founder against giving her “character lessons”:

Reference to Judicial Scrutiny: Pointing to legal troubles faced by Ramdev’s enterprise, Ranaut noted: “At least mujhe kabhi Supreme Court se fatkar nahi lagi for false/fraud efficacy claims based on hard facts, not some gossip or assumptions,” referring to the 2024 Supreme Court contempt case involving misleading advertisements by Patanjali Ayurved.

Rejection of Character Criticism: Asserting her track record, the Mandi MP stated her character remains unblemished with “no fraud detected.”
“Given the remarks he makes about women, I think he really needs to reflect on his perspective regarding them,” Ranaut asserted in her latest statement, adding that such comments insult his traditional attire.
Ramdev’s Stand and Context
Following the counter-attack, Baba Ramdev indicated he did not wish to escalate the conflict further, stating that the public recognizes his contributions to the nation and that he refrained from commenting on individuals of “such stature.”
The spat follows previous legal proceedings in 2024, when Ramdev and Patanjali Ayurved Managing Director Acharya Balkrishna submitted an unconditional apology to the Supreme Court for breaching undertakings related to medicinal product claims.
