NEW DELHI — Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday extended warm birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday, describing his 25-year public service journey as an “epic tale of penance, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve.”
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Shah highlighted PM Modi’s transition from an ordinary worker to Chief Minister and Prime Minister, stating that his life serves as an inspiration for millions across the nation.
“He worked viewing power not as an end in itself, but as a means for the welfare of the poor and nation-building,” Shah said, adding that party workers like him are fortunate to have worked alongside PM Modi across various phases of his career.
Shah detailed key milestones of PM Modi’s governance, emphasizing welfare initiatives such as housing schemes, the Ayushman Bharat card, the abolition of Triple Talaq, and the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. He also pointed to youth-centric programs like Startup India, Skill India, and the New Education Policy.
In terms of security and national defense, the Home Minister noted that India implemented a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism under PM Modi’s leadership. Citing the abrogation of Article 370, surgical strikes, air strikes, and Operation Sindoor, Shah remarked that India now delivers decisive responses rather than mere condemnation.
Highlighting economic transformation and infrastructure development, Shah mentioned key achievements including the Chenab Railway Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir, expanded connectivity in the Northeast, Vande Bharat trains, and progress in the semiconductor sector, noting that India has moved from the “Fragile Five” to one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies.
