NEW DELHI — To promote public engagement with science across diverse linguistic communities, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh unveiled five new regional popular science magazines during the 85th Foundation Day celebrations of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
Published by the CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR), the new periodicals cover Assamese, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu, augmenting the institute’s established English, Hindi, and Urdu science communication titles.

Hybrid Publishing Pipeline: Content production utilizes Artificial Intelligence to translate selected articles from CSIR-NIScPR’s flagship periodicals (Science Reporter, Vigyan Pragati, and Science ki Duniya), followed by mandatory human peer review, technical fact-checking, and editorial verification.

Regional Science Journalism: The periodicals incorporate original, native-language articles to promote local scientific writing and feature innovations emerging from regional academic and research institutions.

Institutional Leadership: The launch was attended by Dr. N. Kalaiselvi (Director General, CSIR) and Dr. Geetha Vani Rayasam (Director, CSIR-NIScPR), with project coordination managed by Shri Mukesh Ambadas Pund and Dr. Meher Wan.
