Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has reportedly received a death threat through social media, his party revealed on Friday, triggering swift action by law enforcement officials just months before the Bihar assembly elections.
According to a formal complaint filed by LJP (Ram Vilas) spokesperson Rajesh Bhatt at the Patna Cyber Police Station, the threat was issued via Instagram, under the username ‘Tiger Meraj IDISI’.
The incident comes shortly after Chirag Paswan announced his party’s active participation in the upcoming Bihar polls, a move that has added new political equations in the state’s dynamic landscape.
Cyber authorities are currently investigating the source and intent behind the threatening message. Security around the minister has reportedly been reviewed in light of the development.
