Hyderabad, July 22, 2025 — B. Venkanna, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer and currently serving as Deputy Chief Operations Manager (Freight Operations Information System & Planning) in the South Central Railway (SCR), has been appointed on deputation to the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
He will serve as Executive Director (Coal Movement) for a period of three years, overseeing the vital logistics and coal transportation operations that power one of India’s major coal mining companies.
This strategic deputation aims to enhance coordination between rail and coal logistics, given Venkanna’s extensive experience in freight operations and planning within the Indian Railways. His appointment is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency in coal movement and supply chain management across SCCL’s operations.
