The Government of Himachal Pradesh has appointed Ajay Kumar Yadav (IPS: 1996: HP) as the new Principal Resident Commissioner (PRC) in New Delhi, marking a significant administrative shift in the state’s liaison setup with the national capital.
Ajay Kumar Yadav, who was previously serving as Additional Director General of Police, Crime and Special Task Force, had been awaiting a posting order. His new role as PRC places him at the forefront of coordinating between the state and central governments, especially on matters of inter-state cooperation, resource mobilization, and policy alignment.
Yadav replaces Sushil Kumar Singla (IFoS: 1994: HP), who was holding the PRC position as an additional charge. The appointment comes at a crucial time, as the Himachal Pradesh government is actively engaging with multiple central ministries for ongoing infrastructure and development projects.
Known for his disciplined track record and strategic leadership in law enforcement, Yadav’s elevation to this crucial liaison role is expected to bolster Himachal Pradesh’s representation and administrative efficiency in Delhi.
