The Central Government has extended the tenure of Saurabh Garg as Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) on a contract basis till July 31, 2026.
Garg, a 1991 batch retired IAS officer of the Odisha cadre, has been serving as Secretary, MoSPI, where he has played a key role in improving statistical systems and strengthening programme monitoring mechanisms.
This extension ensures continuity in leadership as the Ministry undertakes important national data initiatives and key programme implementation reforms.
