Sudathi, the direct-to-consumer saree brand that gained national recognition after its appearance on Shark Tank India Season 4, has announced the appointment of actor Mouni Roy as its brand ambassador. This move aligns with the brand’s plan to strengthen its presence in the festive and wedding saree market.
Sudathi made headlines after securing ₹1 crore funding at a ₹25 crore valuation from Anupam Mittal, Peyush Bansal, and Aman Gupta during the show. Since then, the brand has built strong visibility and credibility in the ethnic wear segment.
Known for her roles in Naagin, Gold, and Brahmastra, Mouni Roy brings a pan-India appeal across both urban and regional audiences. Her popular hashtag #SareeGirlForever and personal love for sarees made her a natural fit for Sudathi’s vision of blending tradition with modern sensibilities.
“Mouni’s connect with audiences in metros and smaller towns makes her the ideal face for our next phase. She reflects the blend of tradition and ease we want to bring to today’s saree shopper,” said Viren Lathiya, co-founder of Sudathi.
As part of this partnership, Mouni will lead campaigns like #TyoharWaliSaree for festive collections and #ShaadiSabkiHai, which aims to make wedding sarees more affordable and stylish. She will also appear in summer campaigns focused on breathable fabrics and everyday saree fashion.
Mouni Roy said:
“Sarees have always been close to my heart. I love how Sudathi makes sarees stylish, accessible, and affordable for everyone. With new styles launching every week, it offers a one-of-a-kind online shopping experience.”
Post Shark Tank, Sudathi has received additional backing from Arjun Vaidya (V3 Ventures) and Ritesh Khandelwal (Zyod), which has accelerated its growth.
Launched in 2023, the brand has already achieved ₹80 crore turnover and is on track to reach ₹100 crore ARR. Sudathi offers 3,000+ saree designs across silk, georgette, and cotton, with 100+ new styles launched weekly. Its 1-minute Ready-to-Wear Sarees have become particularly popular among younger, style-conscious shoppers.
With over 1 million app downloads and a place among India’s Top 20 shopping apps, Sudathi is rapidly evolving as a dominant force in the online ethnic fashion market.
