Asok Kumar, IAS (1991 batch, Telangana cadre), has joined the Board of Kannur International Airport Ltd.
After retiring in 2024 as Special Secretary and Director General of the National Mission for Clean Ganga, he has been serving as Visiting Professor of Practice at IIT Kanpur, and as Guest Faculty at IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Raipur, and IIT Roorkee since March 2025.
Popularly known as the “Rain Man” for initiating the successful Catch The Rain campaign during his tenure as MD, National Water Mission, Kumar has also made notable contributions to the civil aviation sector. Between 2011 and 2015, he served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation and as Chief Vigilance Officer at Airports Authority of India (AAI).
