B. Sairam, who currently serves as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Northern Coalfields Limited, has been selected to be the new Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Coal India Limited (CIL).
The selection was made by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) during a meeting held on September 20, 2025. A total of 11 candidates were interviewed for the position.
