Significant leadership appointments have been announced in both the bureaucracy and the political arena this week, affecting the Uttar Pradesh government and the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Jharkhand unit.
Surendra Singh Appointed Secretary to UP CM Yogi
Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Surendra Singh has been appointed as Secretary to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Singh, a 2005-batch officer, returns to the state cadre after a three-year central deputation serving the Delhi Lieutenant Governor.
Known for his integrity and diligence, Singh has previously served in key roles within the Chief Minister’s Office and held positions as District Magistrate in nine districts and Commissioner of Meerut. He will join Amit Singh and Suryapal Gangwar as the third Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office.
BJP Appoints Aditya Sahu as Jharkhand Working President
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced a major organizational change for its Jharkhand unit on October 3, 2025.
National President Jagat Prakash Nadda appointed Shri Aditya Sahu, a sitting Member of Parliament (MP) in the Rajya Sabha, as the Working President (कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष) of the BJP Jharkhand Pradesh. This appointment replaces Shri Ravindra Kumar Ray in the position and is effective immediately. The announcement was signed by National General Secretary and Headquarters Incharge, Arun Singh.
