Rajesh Gawande, a 2009-batch IFS officer currently serving as the Regional Passport Officer, has been appointed as the Secretary of Protocol, FDI, and Diaspora Matters in the Maharashtra Mantralaya.
This appointment is notable as it marks the first time an IFS officer (Indian Foreign Service) will be working on deputation for the state government in Maharashtra. His new role will focus on state-level foreign policy, investment, and engagement with the Indian diaspora.
