Amid continued rumors regarding the death of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and planned protests by his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the government has imposed Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Punjab Amendment) Act, 2024, in Rawalpindi for three days, from December 1 to 3, 2025, banning all forms of public gatherings of five or more people, carrying of weapons, and the use of loudspeakers to preempt civil unrest near key installations.
