In a strategic leadership move, the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) has announced key appointments at its First Managing Committee Meeting for FY 2025–26, held on July 19 in Mumbai.
Nirmal K. Minda, Executive Chairman of Uno Minda, has been appointed as Senior Vice President, positioning him to become the next President of ASSOCHAM. Amitabh Chaudhry, MD & CEO of Axis Bank, has been named Vice President, pending regulatory clearance from the Reserve Bank of India.
Making the announcement, Sanjay Nayar, President of ASSOCHAM, stated:

Nirmal K. Minda is a respected figure in the auto components industry, with over five decades of experience. Under his leadership, Uno Minda has grown into a global innovator with a market capitalization of ₹62,566 crore and revenues of ₹16,775 crore (FY 2024–25). He is also a past President of ACMA and winner of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year (2019) in the Manufacturing category.
Amitabh Chaudhry, a veteran in Indian banking, has driven Axis Bank’s transformation through a digital-first, customer-centric approach. Under his leadership, Axis Bank has reached a market cap of ₹3.41 lakh crore and revenues of around ₹81,000 crore. His prior experience spans banking, insurance, and technology sectors.
