In a significant reinforcement of India’s premier counter-terrorism agency, Mr. Vinay Kumar, a seasoned 2004-batch IPS officer of the Bihar cadre, has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The appointment, made on a deputation basis, marks his transition to a critical national security role. Known for his extensive experience in tackling organized crime and internal security challenges in Bihar, his induction into the NIA is expected to bolster the agency’s investigative capabilities in complex terror-link cases.
