In a significant administrative move, the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government has ordered the transfer of seven IPS officers, aiming to enhance policing efficiency, surveillance, and investigative strength across the state.
Key Transfers:
Jitendra Rana (2005 batch): Appointed as Inspector General (IG), Central Region. Previously awaiting posting, he will now oversee policing in the central zone, including Patna.
Rakesh Rathi (2002 batch): Named IG, Special Branch, taking charge of internal intelligence and surveillance.
Garima Malik (2006 batch): Shifted from IG, Central Region to IG, Vigilance, focusing on anti-corruption and administrative oversight.
S. Premalatha: Transferred from IG, Vigilance to IG, Technical Services, where she will head police modernization and infrastructure development.
Manoj Kumar Tiwari (2012 batch): Appointed Superintendent of Police (SP), Siwan; he previously served as SP, CID.
Amitesh Kumar: Moved from SP, Siwan to SP, Special Branch.
K. Ramdas (2019 batch): Former Assistant Director at Bihar Police Academy, now appointed as SP, CID, taking over one of Bihar’s key investigative units.
This reshuffle reflects the state government’s effort to strengthen law enforcement by placing experienced officers in strategic roles across intelligence, vigilance, and technical services.
