Bijay Kumar Rath Appointed Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer of South Central Railway

Mr. Bijay Kumar Rath, a senior officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), has been promoted and posted as the Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer (PCME) of the South Central Railway (SCR). Currently serving within the SCR zone, his elevation to the top mechanical post ensures administrative continuity in one of India’s most critical railway zones. The appointment was finalized on December 27, 2025, and he takes over the responsibility of overseeing the vast mechanical infrastructure, including major workshops and rolling stock maintenance hubs across the zone.
