Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), a premier “Miniratna” Category-I State-Owned Enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has announced the resignation of Chandu Sambasiva Rao from his position as an Independent Director. Rao, who served as a key member of the board, stepped down citing personal reasons or other professional commitments (as per standard regulatory filings). His departure comes at a time when the shipyard is managing several high-profile defense projects, including the construction of advanced submarines and destroyers. MDL has initiated the process of informing the Ministry of Defence and stock exchanges to ensure compliance with SEBI’s corporate governance norms.
