Delhi CM Rekha Gupta defended the Madrasi Camp demolition, stating it followed court orders to clear the Barapullah drain and prevent future floods. She confirmed that eligible residents were resettled in Narela.
Targeting AAP leaders, she said, “Who will be responsible if lives are lost—Saurabh Bharadwaj, Atishi, or Kejriwal?”
Gupta also highlighted Rs 700 crore worth of development work under the BJP government.
AAP’s Atishi criticised the move, calling it a betrayal of the “jahan jhuggi, wahan makaan” promise, and said the eviction left families in distress.
