NEW DELHI (Feb 14, 2026) — In a major leadership transition for the coal sector, the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande for the position of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL).
The selection was finalized during a high-level meeting on February 13, 2026, where Dr. Pande emerged as the top candidate from a shortlist of 12 senior executives representing the coal, railways, oil, and engineering sectors.
