Just when it seemed like tensions had cooled, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump are once again at odds—this time over the long-suppressed Jeffrey Epstein files.
Musk, who recently launched the America Party as a challenge to what he calls the US “one-party system,” has openly criticized Trump for allegedly withholding documents tied to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“How can people be expected to have faith in Trump if he won’t release the Epstein files?” Musk posted on X on Tuesday.
In a follow-up interaction, Musk confirmed that exposing the Epstein files ranks as a “high priority” for his political party, responding to a supporter with a “💯” emoji when asked about its importance.
DOJ Statement Fuels Outrage
This renewed confrontation comes in the wake of a Justice Department memo stating that “no further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted” regarding Epstein’s death and potential associates. The memo also claimed that no “client list” was found despite a thorough review of Epstein’s properties.
When asked about the issue at a recent White House press conference, Trump sidestepped the question, and Attorney General Pam Bondi dismissed concerns, saying, “He committed suicide.”
This stance contradicts Bondi’s earlier remarks in February, when she claimed the client list was “sitting on her desk.” Both Trump and Bondi had previously pledged to expose Epstein’s network, further fueling public skepticism.
Musk Fires Back with Memes and Accusations
Musk responded to the DOJ memo with a meme of a clown applying makeup, sarcastically captioned: “There is no Epstein list.” The post reflects mounting public frustration and calls for transparency.
Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones added to the uproar, writing:
“Next, the DOJ will say ‘Actually, Jeffrey Epstein never even existed.’ This is over-the-top sickening.”
While Musk previously falsely suggested Trump was named in unreleased Epstein files, he later deleted the post and admitted he had “gone too far.”
