In a significant strengthening of its senior leadership, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has promoted five IPS officers from the 2012 batch to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG). These officers, who have been serving in the agency on central deputation, bring diverse experience from their respective state cadres into their new high-level roles. Their promotion comes at a time when the NIA is expanding its pan-India footprint and intensifying its focus on counter-terrorism, terror-funding investigations, and transnational organized crime.
