Ms. Nidhi Kesarwani, a 2004 batch IAS officer of the Manipur cadre and currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), has been appointed as the Central Prabhari Officer (CPO) for Barwani district in Madhya Pradesh under the Aspirational District Programme (ADP).
As a CPO, Ms. Kesarwani will be responsible for monitoring development progress, identifying gaps, and coordinating efforts between the central and state governments to accelerate transformation in Barwani—a district identified for focused policy attention due to its socio-economic challenges.
The Aspirational District Programme, launched by NITI Aayog, aims to rapidly improve the status of districts that have shown relatively poor progress in key areas such as health, education, agriculture, financial inclusion, and basic infrastructure. CPOs play a vital role in bringing cross-sectoral synergy to implement reforms on the ground.
With her extensive administrative experience and policy acumen, Ms. Kesarwani is expected to play a pivotal role in driving inclusive and sustainable development in Barwani district.
