New Delhi has strongly condemned Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir’s recent threat of nuclear war, with central government sources describing the remarks as part of a recurring pattern where Islamabad “shows its true colours” whenever it enjoys support from the United States.
“Pakistan Army Chief’s statement is part of a pattern; whenever the US supports the Pakistan military, they always reveal their true colours,” sources said.
Officials asserted that the comments from Pakistan’s top military leadership once again underscore that the country is an irresponsible nuclear state, raising concerns over the potential risks associated with its weapons arsenal.
“There is a real danger of nuclear weapons falling into the hands of non-state actors in Pakistan,” the sources warned, calling the threat a dangerous provocation that highlights the volatility of the region.
