The Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) has appointed K J Patel as its new Managing Director, effective August 1, 2025. He succeeds Dr Udai Shanker Awasthi, who superannuated on July 31, 2025, after an illustrious tenure of over three decades.
Patel, known for his expertise in the fertilizer and cooperative sectors, is expected to continue IFFCO’s legacy of innovation, farmer empowerment, and global growth.
Dr Awasthi, who had been at the helm of IFFCO since 1993, transformed the organisation into a global cooperative powerhouse by spearheading international joint ventures, introducing revolutionary nano fertilizers, and leading numerous initiatives that strengthened the Indian agriculture ecosystem.
