In a disturbing development, comedian Kapil Sharma’s newly launched café, “Kap’s Cafe”, located in Surrey, British Columbia (Canada), came under gunfire late Wednesday night. A viral video circulating on social media shows a man firing at least nine rounds from a car directly at the café. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
The café had recently held its soft launch, marking Kapil Sharma’s entry into the hospitality business. His wife, Ginni Chatrath, is reportedly playing an active role in the venture. The incident has cast a dark cloud over what was initially a highly anticipated and celebrated launch.
According to a report by NDTV, Khalistani terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi has claimed responsibility for the attack. Laddi, a known associate of the banned terror organization Babbar Khalsa International, is one of the most wanted fugitives on the National Investigation Agency (NIA) list.
Sources suggest the motive behind the attack may be linked to a past statement allegedly made by Kapil Sharma that offended Laddi, prompting the violent response.
Local law enforcement and Canadian authorities are currently investigating the incident. Security around the café and its owners has reportedly been increased, and Indian officials are closely monitoring the situation given the involvement of a designated terrorist.
