Kerala Governor R.V. Arlekar has reportedly expressed strong displeasure over the abrupt transfer of six police officers who were recently posted at the Raj Bhavan. Sources indicate that the Governor has conveyed his dissatisfaction directly to the newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP).
The controversy stems from a list of six officers that the Governor had personally submitted to the former DGP for deployment at the Raj Bhavan. The transfer order based on this list was issued on June 28. However, in a surprising turn of events, the same order was cancelled within 24 hours, and the officers were shifted within 48 hours of their posting.
According to the Police Department, the cancellation was made following instructions from the state government, further deepening the rift between the Raj Bhavan and the government.
The incident underscores ongoing tensions between the Governor’s office and the state administration, with issues of protocol, autonomy, and administrative control once again in the spotlight.
