The Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced two major administrative appointments in both the Chief Minister’s office and the legal administration, effective October 10, 2025.
IAS Surendra Singh Appointed Secretary to UP Chief Minister
Surendra Singh, a 2005-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been appointed as Secretary to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Singh returns to the state cadre after a three-year central deputation where he served the Delhi Lieutenant Governor. Known for his integrity, he previously held key roles as District Magistrate in nine districts, Commissioner of Meerut, and CEO of the Greater Noida Authority. Singh joins Amit Singh and Suryapal Gangwar as the third Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office.
Uday Pratap Singh Appointed Principal Secretary (Law) & Legal Remembrancer
The Allahabad High Court has announced the appointment of Shri Uday Pratap Singh as the Principal Secretary (Law) & Legal Remembrancer for the Government of U.P.
Singh, who was serving as the Presiding Officer of the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation & Resettlement Authority in Lucknow, was appointed pursuant to a Government Order (G.O.M. No. 951/II-4-2025) dated October 10, 2025. This posting was announced “By Order of the Hon’ble Court.”
