Lucknow, April 10, 2026 – In a significant administrative overhaul, the Uttar Pradesh government has issued transfer and posting orders for 12 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. The reshuffle, primarily involving officers from the 2019, 2020, and 2022 batches, aims to bolster law and order across several districts and key police commissionerates.
Strategic Moves in Key Commissionerates
Several young officers have been moved to high-profile roles in the state’s urban centers. Shri Sagar Jain (IPS-RR-2019), previously serving as Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) in Saharanpur, has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for the Prayagraj Commissionerate.
In a similar move to strengthen city policing, Sushri Twinkle Jain (IPS-RR-2022) moves from her role as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Noida to become the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) in Lucknow. Sushri Lipi Nagayach (IPS-RR-2022) has also been shifted from the Ghaziabad Commissionerate to serve as ADCP in Varanasi.
Focus on Naxal-Affected and Sensitive Areas
The state has also prioritized specialized roles in sensitive regions. Shri Rajkumar Meena (IPS-RR-2022), formerly ACP in Prayagraj, and Shri Rishabh Runwal (IPS-RR-2022), formerly ACP in Lucknow, have both been designated as Additional Superintendents of Police (Naxal) for Mirzapur and Sonbhadra, respectively.
