NEW DELHI (February 12, 2026) – The central government has extended the central deputation tenure of Nitesh Kumar Vyas, currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), for a period of two years.
A 1996-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Vyas was originally slated to complete his term in May. With this extension, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), he will now continue in his high-profile role until May 30, 2028.
