Ms. Diptasri Barma Arora has been promoted and elevated to the rank of Chief Commissioner of Customs and Indirect Taxes (the highest rung of seniority, designated as HAG+ or Level 16 in the Pay Matrix) within the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC); the promotion, which was effective on a notional basis from July 1, 2024 (the panel year 2024), is granted on an in-situ basis and is reported to follow the resolution of a protracted legal matter regarding her seniority.
