The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has officially appointed Ms. Muanpuii Saiawi as the next High Commissioner of India to New Zealand. A seasoned diplomat from the 2005 batch of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Ms. Saiawi currently serves as a Joint Secretary within the MEA. Her appointment comes at a time of deepening bilateral ties between New Delhi and Wellington, with a focus on enhancing trade, education, and regional security in the Indo-Pacific. She is expected to take up her assignment shortly, succeeding the incumbent head of mission.
