KORBA / NEW DELHI – NTPC Limited, India’s largest integrated power utility, has appointed Shri Kishore Chandra Patra as the Head of Project (HoP) for the NTPC Korba Super Thermal Power Station in Chhattisgarh. Shri Patra officially assumed charge on February 4, 2026.
A veteran in the power sector, Shri Patra brings over 35 years of extensive experience in power plant operations, maintenance, and project management to one of NTPC’s flagship 2,600 MW facilities.
A Distinguished Career in Power Engineering
Shri Patra’s journey with NTPC began in 1989 as an Executive Trainee (Mechanical Engineering). Over three and a half decades, he has built a reputation for technical excellence and people-centric leadership.

Efficiency Upgrades: Driving the implementation of Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) systems to meet new environmental compliance norms.

Operational Continuity: Managing the aging Stage-I units (200 MW) while maintaining the high Plant Load Factor (PLF) of the 500 MW supercritical sets.

Safety & Sustainability: Strengthening the “Safety First” culture and sustainable ash management practices at the Korba complex.
