On World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 200 electric buses in Delhi, promoting green and sustainable urban transport. The event, attended by Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, L-G Vinai Kumar Saxena, and Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, marked a major push towards clean mobility.
The PM also planted a sapling under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, supporting the Aravalli Green Wall project.
With the latest addition, Delhi’s electric bus fleet now stands at 2,095, and the government aims to make the entire public transport fleet fully electric by 2027. A new EV policy is also in the pipeline.
