Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ahead of his government’s 11th anniversary on June 9, emphasized that several pro-farmer initiatives over the past 11 years have significantly boosted agricultural prosperity and improved farmer welfare.
In a post on X, Modi said, “It’s our privilege to serve our hardworking farmers… We have focused on issues like soil health and irrigation, which have been greatly beneficial.”
He also noted that schemes such as annual cash assistance, loan insurance, and steps to ease access to credit have reduced farmers’ dependency on loans for small needs. The prime minister affirmed that the government’s commitment to farmer welfare will continue with renewed energy.
