NEW DELHI (Feb 19, 2026) — Addressing world leaders at the AI Impact Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced India’s “MANAV” framework, a human-centric vision designed to ensure that artificial intelligence evolves as a force for global good.
The MANAV Framework
PM Modi explained that MANAV (the Hindi word for “human”) stands for five core pillars:

M — Moral and Ethical System: Ensuring AI adheres to human values.

A — Accountable Governance: Maintaining transparency in AI-driven decisions.

N — National Sovereignty: Protecting the right to data and digital borders.

A New Era: The PM compared the AI revolution to the invention of wireless communication, stating we are entering an era where humans and machines “co-create, co-work, and co-evolve.”
