In a significant judicial reshuffle, President Droupadi Murmu has appointed new Chief Justices to five High Courts across the country. Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, who was serving as the Acting Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, has been appointed as its permanent Chief Justice. Justice Vibhu Bakhru, a Judge of the Delhi High Court, will now serve as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court. Justice Ashutosh Kumar, who held the position of Acting Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court. Justice Vipul Manubhai Pancholi, currently a Judge at the Patna High Court, has been elevated as the Chief Justice of the same court. Additionally, Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan from the Himachal Pradesh High Court has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court. These appointments underscore the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the judiciary and ensuring effective leadership across key judicial institutions in the country.
