Sanjay Kumar (IAS: 1990) Given Additional Charge as Secretary, DoPT

Mr. Sanjay Kumar, a senior 1990-batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). Currently serving as the Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Mr. Kumar will hold this vital responsibility until January 18, 2026, or until a regular incumbent is appointed. This temporary arrangement ensures administrative continuity in the DoPT, which serves as the nodal agency for all personnel-related matters of the Government of India, including recruitment, training, and career management of civil servants.
