The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Sanjay Singhal, Special DG, Border Security Force (BSF), as the new Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
A 1993 batch IPS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, Singhal brings with him extensive experience in security and border management. Prior to this, he was serving as Special DG with the BSF, where he handled key responsibilities related to border security operations.
He will now take over the leadership of SSB, the paramilitary force responsible for guarding India’s borders with Nepal and Bhutan, and internal security duties assigned by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
His appointment comes at a time when the SSB is focusing on enhancing its operational capabilities and strengthening border management.
