Shashvat Kumar, a 2016 batch IPS officer of the Tripura cadre, has been appointed as Commandant in the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on a deputation basis.
His appointment to the central armed police force adds to the growing trend of state cadre IPS officers being deployed for key assignments in central security organisations.
