The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Ms. Shyamla Misra as Administrator (Digital Bharat Nidhi) within the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). A senior 1996-batch IAS officer of the Haryana cadre, she has been appointed with the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. In this pivotal role, she will oversee the management and disbursement of the Digital Bharat Nidhi (formerly the Universal Service Obligation Fund – USOF), focusing on bridging the digital divide and expanding high-speed connectivity to India’s rural and remote regions.
