Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has firmly dismissed speculation of a mid-term leadership change, asserting that he will serve the full five-year term in office.
“Yes, I will [continue as Chief Minister]. Why do you have doubts?” Siddaramaiah said confidently while addressing reporters.
The comment came as a direct response to claims by BJP and JD(S) leaders, who suggested a potential shift in leadership within the Congress-led state government. Brushing aside the rumours, he added:
“Are they the Congress high command?” – a rhetorical jab aimed at the opposition parties questioning his position.
The clarification comes amidst:
-
Internal party discussions and tension between CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar
-
Reports of dissatisfaction among some Congress MLAs
Despite the political undercurrents, Siddaramaiah has reaffirmed his authority and made it clear that his administration is stable and committed to completing the full term.
